At Ringor we live and breathe fastpitch softball, so when the NCAA season rolls around we get truly excited about the opportunity to see hundreds of teams and thousands of athletes compete at one of the highest levels achievable in our sport. Throughout the NCAA we support teams big and small in their focus on and off the field. In this series of posts we’ll highlight some of those teams who choose to play in Ringor cleats and made remarkable achievements this year. We’ll kick it off with these DI and DII softball programs.
The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns made a memorable run this season with another birth into the DI Women’s College World Series. After rolling through a stellar season and regional tournament play lead by Lexie Elkins, Shelbi Redfearn and Christina Hamilton (and her glasses) the ULL softball program earned a #6 seed in the WCWS before being knocked out of play by the University of Oklahoma. With commitment, smart play and hard work (and a little help from their Ringor Dynasty cleats, we hope), the Ragin’ Cajuns put on a show of skill and power this season that has us excited to seeing them take the field next season.
In the DII Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), Liberty, Missouri’s William and Jewell College, fought the tough fight to finish the season above .500. The Cardinals gave the GLVC a run for their money with a conference record of 22 – 15 – 0 and even more importantly were recognized with the Division II Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence. The awards are given to DII teams achieving four-year Academic Success Rates (ASR) of 90 percent or more. The Cardinals posted an ASR of 99 percent this season! We’re looking forward to seeing the Cardinals take the field next season with six of their starting lineup expected to return. Until then, check out our blog archive for contributions from some of the Cardinals players themselves. Thanks for sharing with our readers, ladies!
As fans and supporters we’re so very excited to see the achievements of these programs. And as the manufacturers of the softball cleats each and every one of the players on these teams wears, we’re proud to see our own hard work serve such deserving student athletes. Join us in congratulating the Cardinals and Ragin’ Cajuns on wonderful seasons.
Check back next week for the DIII round-up. And don’t miss Ringor on tour at your local tournaments this summer. Stay tuned to find out where we’ll be!.
