With the thrilling conclusion of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) season recently [http://softballchatter.ringor.com/congratulations-usssa-pride-2014-national-pro-fastpitch-championship/], the NPF announced its All-NPF Team, and league award winners on August 20. Joining the All-NPF Team this year was former University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajun, Nerissa Myers. Congratulations, Nerissa!

Nerissa lead the Akron Racers with nine homeruns, 43 RBIs and 50 hits in 47 games this season. Her .365 batting average also topped the Racers’ lineup, proving just how much Myers’s place on the All-NPF roster was deserved. In the field Myers, who wore Ringor softball cleats in her days as a ULL Ragin’ Cajun, also made her presence known by turning eight double plays this season and 80 putouts from her home at shortstop. Her reliability in the field earned Nerissa a .923 fielding percentage for the season, and aided the Racers in reaching the NPF Championship Finals. With that kind of play, we’re excited to see what Nerissa will bring to the NPF next season!

Along with the naming of the All-NPF Team, National Pro Fastpitch also announced their league awards for the 2014 fastpitch softball season. This year’s Diamond Spike Award for most stolen bases, awarded by Ringor softball cleats, was earned by Breja’e Washington and her 17 stolen bases. Breja’e not only brought speed to the USSSA Pride’s championship season, she also delivered 11 hits and scored 23 runs, giving the Pride the edge they needed to take home the 2014 Cowle’s Cup and the 2014 Ringor Cup as the regular season champions.

At Ringor, we’re proud to support the NPF as the premier professional fastpitch softball league in the world. The NPF not only gives fastpitch athletes another goal to work towards in the sport, beyond international play, but it also has lead to further development in athletes as they mature past the college level. And just as important, the NPF delivers a top level of play to four cities around America, allowing fans to join in the fun and catch the best athletes in fastpitch doing what they do best. We encourage anyone in the areas of Akron, OH, Chicago, IL, Washington, PA, or Kissimmee, FL to get to as many games as you can next season to cheer on these elite athletes.

We can’t wait to see who brings home the Ringor softball cleats awards next year! Until then, look for these NPF athletes in tournaments around the country and around the world..
