Who Says You Can’t Play Softball in the Snow?
While the season is well underway for many warmer climate teams, there’s still a thick blanket of snow covering the ground across much of the Northeast, Midwest, Plains and Rockies. It’s something us northerners are used to but that doesn’t mean that we don’t crave a game of softball played outdoors throughout the snowy months. Some diehard New Yorkers couldn’t wait for the snow to melt this year and put together a snow softball tournament this weekend.
In their quest to reach their $750,000 fundraising goal to build a new adaptive sports field complex for athletes with disabilities, Webster, N.Y. residents hosted a softball tournament in snow-covered western New York. While it was slowpitch, we’ve gotta give them some big recognition for getting out there to play in the snow and cold and all for a great cause!
