This past weekend, Ringor had the opportunity to be a part of a very special Monica Abbott weekend. Monica hosted her 5th annual “Monica Abbott Classic” tournament, which included mini-clinics, a canned food drive, her scholarship fund, and many pictures with fans!
The busy festivities began on Friday, November 18th, with Monica and Co. putting on a couple mini-clinics for 10-16 year olds. The girls learned new hitting drills, speed and agility mechanics, Jaeger Band resistance training, and pitching techniques from Monica herself. They worked hard perfecting their game and we could see the improvement by the end of the clinics! It was fun for us to watch Monica and her team pour their knowledge into the future all stars of softball.
To conclude the clinics, Ringor presented Monica with a check to be donated to her “Monica Abbott Scholarship Fund”. During this past season with the Chicago Bandits, Ringor and Monica teamed up to earn money for her scholarship. For every strikeout she earned, we at Ringor would donate $10 towards her fund. For the #1 pitcher in the world, she gladly accepted the challenge. By the end of her season, Monica had 175 strikeouts, which earned her $1750 towards her scholarship fund. We presented her with her hard earned check as she explained to the athletes and their parents the importance of hard work, education, and discipline.

CAN FOOD DRIVE
The tournament began Saturday morning, and that meant teams could begin bringing in their collected canned food! The goal for the canned food drive was to try to earn Monica as a coach for a game on Sunday, as well as raise awareness and help out the Monterey County Food Bank.
Mission accomplished! Every team contributed and the final total was a whopping 2115 lbs. of canned food! The winning team, bringing in a monstrous total of 700 cans, was the Salinas Wildcats 14U!
When she wasn’t coaching or teaching during the weekend, she spent her time at her Live 2 Bring It booth and our Ringor booth. She signed autographs, took pictures with fans, and helped young players pick out their new Ringor cleats!
A behind the scene look at the filming of Ringor’s upcoming video featuring Monica Abbott!
